Wednesday's Word - Living Water

Hello All,

Now the funny thing about this Wednesday's Word - (The day late
edition) is that this was actually a dream I had just about 4 or 5
days ago. So I am trying to recall it as it happened:
In the dream I was explaining to a married couple (friends of mine)
the nature of getting along in the relationship - I know, seems quite
ironic. But as I walked up to the table where they were sitting -
they were both drinking and there was a cup in the middle of the
small table not standing out like an example - just a nonchalant part
of the situation. She was drinking tea and he was drinking coffee -
the cup in the middle of the table was full of ice water.

As I sought to make sense of the situation, I drew their attention to
the 3 cups and started to explain:

I said -"Now this cup in the middle of the table is God - its full of
ice water and will never be empty."
I said to the man, " You're drinking coffee, so if you pour your cup
into your wife's tea - that's not going to taste very well, and she'll
probably reject it - and vice versa. The way it works is that only
God can pour into your cup. When God pours into your cup its more
tolerable to what you were already drinking as opposed to somebody
pouring tea into your coffee or any other mixture.

As God IN Christ, conforms us to the image OF Christ - He's weaning
you off of you and what you're used to and onto Himself.
Eventually, not only will all of your coffee be replaced with water -
but it will be only then that someone else can receive you pouring
into their life as well."

Here's The Word:

John 4: 10 - 14 Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and
who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he
would have given you living water.” 11 “Sir,” the woman said, “you
have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this
living water? 12 Are you greater than our father Jacob, who gave us
the well and drank from it himself, as did also his sons and his
livestock?” 13 Jesus answered, “Everyone who drinks this water will be
thirsty again, 14 but whoever drinks the water I give them will never
thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of
water welling up to eternal life.”

John 7:38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, Out of
his heart will flow rivers of living water.

So as I've been pondering over this dream for days now, I think the
Truth applies whether you're married or not, whether you're a tea or
coffee drinker, or if your thing is red Kool-Aid. God is about the
business of getting more of Him into you and as John understood and
embraced it - He said " He must increase but I must decrease"(John
3:30). And as you live for Christ - make sure its HIM you're trying to
see added to the cups of others, not simply what feels tolerable to you.

In Him,
Cros
