Wednesday's Word - The Moment I've All Been Waiting For

Hello All,
Wanna know something? Life is hard. I guess it stands to reckon that I’m not telling you anything new. Somehow I have the sneaky suspicion that you’re already pretty familiar with what I’m talking about. But we all know that sometimes more than others, life gets ‘especially’ hard. Now hopefully, I’m not alone in this when I say that sometimes it gets so hard that I don’t necessarily start to think that God doesn’t know, but my thoughts do tend toward (if only in a whisper),”God, do you understand just how hard this is for me? Cause if you did, you would do something”. Maybe its just me. Well, thank God for His True and Living Word because in it we find that He does know, He does understand, and He has done something. Some words the Bible uses carry a certain “pleasantness” with them and then, there’s these certain ‘other’ words. The word endure is such a word. Sadly, preaching endure in today’s society probably won’t have people running the aisles for church membership; but here’s the Word that shows that He knows, He understands and He has done something:

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

2 Timothy 2:3 Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

And though sometimes all we can do is bow our heads, grit our teeth and bear it: We are to love the Lord our God with all our heart, all our soul, and all our strength and all our mind. Luke 10:27. Now what has God done? He’s done ALL in giving us the Perfect Ensample.

Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

So yeah, it’s not all bad, but life IS hard. And as I endure ALL of the struggles that this life presents… ALL while continuing to love the Lord with ALL of those ALLs I mentioned earlier. I know there’s a moment coming and “Praise God HALLELUIA!” I know it’s the moment I’ve ALL been waiting for.

Wednesday's Word - I Aint Buying It

Hello All,
There’s an old saying; If it seems too good to be true, then it probably is. And in light of recent headline news, there’s obviously substantial credibility in that statement. There are people that would just as soon swindle you out of your life savings without a second thought, than would excuse themselves for anonymously bumping into you on the street. Not trying to give full allegiance to pessimism, but there’s definitely something to be said for a ‘healthy’ amount of skepticism. Sometimes I hear the “pitch” men and immediately think to myself “I aint buyin’ it”. But what about the peculiar situations where we’ve been undeservedly blessed? How about that financial blessing that came at exactly the right moment? Or something as simple as a phone call from a friend exactly when you needed it most. Many times it seemed, just as my last little bit of hope had already walked out the door; God does something too good to be true, giving me not only the strength to carry on, but so much joy as well.

Here’s the Word:

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

God is so into “too good to be true” that not only does He give good , but He’s also using all of the bad to work for good on behalf of them that love Him. How awesome is that?!

So if you don’t have good Bible believing friends, get some. But also look in the Scriptures for yourself to see that God is good and His Grace is too good to be true. His grace covers even me and I aint buyin it… Can’t buy what’s already been paid for.

p.s. Thanks Phil

In Him,
Cros
