Wednesday's Word - Stop and Ask for Directions

Hello All,
Earlier on in our relationship, Tracy and I came to the question that most people associate with one of the obvious (and humorous) differences between men and women: “How long does a man have to drive around lost before he will stop and ask for directions?”
We talked about it, and being a man, I felt confident that I could explain the situation from a male point of view. I said , “Honey, if I feel that I still have options that I haven’t tried yet, then I really don’t feel as if I’m lost.” Now I know that there is the common reasoning of ‘Male Ego’ and I don’t discount that in many situations it likely has some merit. But for myself, If I’m out of options…then I’m lost…Or am I.

Here’s the Word;
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.

Sometimes we as people, men and women alike, fail to see when we need to pull over and ask for directions. And there are a myriad of ‘reasonings and rationalizings’ we tell ourselves to settle it in our minds. This is not about giving up when things get difficult, this is more so about checking our motives. If we get determined to go in a direction, even one that we’re quite comfortable and familiar with, and pride is our motivation; you may not end up driving passed the same gas station 5 times but the Word of God has no problem proving Itself True at your expense

Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Sometimes you need to stop and ask for directions, wisdom is shown by knowing when.

In Him,
Cros

Wednesday's Word - My Way or The Highway

Hello All,
I can’t say that there was a ever a time when I saw the beginnings of the ‘reality TV revolution’ that I thought to myself…”Now here’s a good idea”.
Now I’m not against blaming television for its share of what’s wrong with the world, you can’t argue that in many ways it holds up a mirror to what is most deplorable, yet all too common in our society. I’m sadly amused by people who think that given enough freedom and resources that ‘we’ would make a world-wide utopia for ourselves. I beg to differ.
I really love God for putting that sort of longing for bliss in our hearts, but when it comes to searching it out, we’d do well to start with Him:

Here’s the Word;

Isaiah 55:-8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.

Choosing our own way for ultimate happiness reminds me of when I was a child at a parade: The floats, bands, bicycles and fire trucks would pass by: And the really ‘good’ ones would throw candy. All of us kids would recklessly dive to the concrete like they were throwing gold nuggets; all for a gumball or tootsie roll. And all the while the Father has prepared a full banquet for those who would seek to follow His Way…The Highway.

In Him,
Cros
