Wednesday's Word - I Don't Deserve This

Morning All,
Sometimes it just seems like an interesting bit of “Bible Trivia” when look back and remember that Jerusalem was not the first place that God set up as the city where His people would worship Him. And we may even scratch our heads at things God does in certain passages of Scripture, like when the priests Nadab and Abihu, Aaron’s sons, were burned up in a rush of fire when they offered ‘strange fire’ to God (Lev 10:1). Sometimes when we consider God, we consider Him from the point of His promises or blessings and WE end up being the focus of the considering. Well consider this: What if there was no Heaven, no blessings, you only got what you worked for and you bared full responsibility for your sins; would God be less Glorious or any less worthy of praise?
We have to be really careful while recognizing Him as Our Loving Father, that we not see and treat Him as ‘common’. He doesn’t deserve that.
Here’s the Word:

Jeremiah 7: 12 But go ye now unto my place which was in Shiloh, where I set my name at the first, and see what I did to it for the wickedness of my people Israel.

God laid Shiloh desolate, and tells Jerusalem to expect the same if they continue in that wicked way. We don’t often think ourselves wicked, because we have a list of ‘wicked things’ that we don’t do, thus keeping us on the “good” list. Not true. If it weren’t for Christ Jesus, we all know what our own righteousness looks like…right? (Isaiah 64:6)

Thank God for Christ who purchased something for us what we don’t deserve.
1Cor 2:9(b) … Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Wednesday's Word - God's iPod

Morning All,

Year before last, I bought a couple of personal media players (iPod knock-offs) that could hold 2 gigabytes of music. You may not be a techy type, but that’s about 300 songs (depending on bit-rate, of course). Aside from that geeky tangent about bit-rate, 300 songs would seem sufficient, especially since you can slip it into your pocket with room to spare, and enjoy your favorite tunes almost anywhere. There once was a time when just half of 1% percent of that was considered too large for your standard home computer…..that’s only like 2 songs now. At my current job I move an unfathomable amount of data and since I said I wasn’t gonna get geeky, I’ll spare you the details. Enough of the natural, let’s get spiritual; Here’s the Word:

Ephesians 5:18(b) – 19 but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

You could say that God’s got an iPod. His iPod is our hearts. He's listening to you, me and all of us that would take His word seriously and live according to it. Not only can His iPod hold the songs of each heart of over 6 billion people, He can listen to them all at once. Our God is truly awesome and He enjoys listening to the tunes of hearts that delight in Him. And unlike the electronic devices, there are absolutely no restrictions on when or where you can make melody in your heart. Have you contributed to God’s playlist today? My contributions include: How Excellent, When I Look into Your Holiness & Use Me… Care to share yours?

Wednesday's Word - Passion Fruit

Hello All,
I’ve been silent on the issue up until now. But how can you not pay 'some sort' of attention to this Presidential race? It’s crazy.
I find my self flipping from through news channels to see what’s gonna happen next. And though you may not agree with any
candidate in particular; they surely seemed to have pulled out all the stops. If anyone ever needed a definition for the word ‘zeal’,
just take a look at the tenacity with which these candidates are campaigning.
Even as dissimilar as the two are: Christianity and partisan politics, I actually think that the Body could learn a thing or two;
not so much in regards to message but definitely in the way of effort and urgency. Could it be that our minds have played a trick on us?
Or have we simply watered down the understanding that how we live and pray can(should) affect people around us and it’s in
the strength of the Holy Spirit that allows us to live righteously and bear fruit to the Glory of God. It’s not just the fruit that I’m talking about
… it’s the passion. Here’s the Word:

Romans 12:11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Galatians 5:22-25 not only lists the fruit of the Spirit, but also tells us that our old sinful passions are dead and that we now live by the Spirit. We’ve crossed over from death to life and no longer run after those things that don’t glorify God. But it doesn’t mean stop running...Continue to run, just in a different direction.
We ought to be excited, bearing the fruit of Spiritual passions.

Not Silent Anymore,
Cros

Monday's Meditation - Do You Know this Lady?

Hello All,
I haven't gotten to the Wednesday's Word in a couple of weeks and I wont make excuses. Thanks to those who continue to encourage me. But aside from the usual, here is something that my Pastor mentioned yesterday. I checked it out myself and I'll just show you what I saw.

Marianne Williamson
(today's lesson: My salvation comes from me)

Do you know Marianne Williamson? As you can tell by the link above Oprah Winfrey knows who she is. Take a look at what she's teaching. No doubt that you will see Marianne's heresy for what it is. The message that she is sharing is not neither, nor her own. Do you know this lady?
Helen Schuman

Helen's acim website points to the same lessons displayed on Marianne's page.

The text of the book "A Course in Miracles" is the product of seven years of the scribing of an inner voice by a Mrs. Helen Schucman. The spirit that channeled a "new gospel" to Mrs. Schucman claimed to be Jesus Christ. The "spirit" made contact with her to correct errors in Sacred Scripture, and the teachings of the Church. The "spirit" that channeled through Mrs. Schucman wrote that Sacred Scripture was in error in teaching us that sin separates us from God, and that Jesus Christ did not die on the cross for our sins.

We really need to be a prayerful people and actively shining the Light of the True Gospel on these teachings.

The popular talk show host, who once shared an ownership stake in the women's programming channel Oxygen, will team with Discovery to create “OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network,” a multi-platform media venture to debut in 2009.

She'll be reaching even more of the masses. You can too. Spread truth.

In Him,
Cros
