Wednesday's Word - God's iPod

Morning All,

Year before last, I bought a couple of personal media players (iPod knock-offs) that could hold 2 gigabytes of music. You may not be a techy type, but that’s about 300 songs (depending on bit-rate, of course). Aside from that geeky tangent about bit-rate, 300 songs would seem sufficient, especially since you can slip it into your pocket with room to spare, and enjoy your favorite tunes almost anywhere. There once was a time when just half of 1% percent of that was considered too large for your standard home computer…..that’s only like 2 songs now. At my current job I move an unfathomable amount of data and since I said I wasn’t gonna get geeky, I’ll spare you the details. Enough of the natural, let’s get spiritual; Here’s the Word:

Ephesians 5:18(b) – 19 but be filled with the Spirit; 19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

You could say that God’s got an iPod. His iPod is our hearts. He's listening to you, me and all of us that would take His word seriously and live according to it. Not only can His iPod hold the songs of each heart of over 6 billion people, He can listen to them all at once. Our God is truly awesome and He enjoys listening to the tunes of hearts that delight in Him. And unlike the electronic devices, there are absolutely no restrictions on when or where you can make melody in your heart. Have you contributed to God’s playlist today? My contributions include: How Excellent, When I Look into Your Holiness & Use Me… Care to share yours?

In Him,
Cros
