Wednesday's Word - Presents Under the Tree

As you pass by the Christmas tree with it’s bevy of brightly colored packages adorned with ribbons and bows, there’s a one with your name on it. Do you know what’s in it? Is the suspense increasing as Christmas morning draws nigh?
As Christians, you’ve been given a special gift called Salvation. And as wonderful as it is, it’s comparable to the brightly colored package…what’s in it? What did you get when you got saved? Well, I’m glad you asked, so I made a list:

The Spirit of Adoption - Romans 8:15
The Grace of God - 1 Peter 4:10
The Holy Spirit – 1 Thessalonians 4:8
Forgiveness of sins – Acts 26:18
Joy – John 17-13
Redemption - Ephesians 1:7
Fellowship in the Gospel – Philippians 1:5
Sainthood – Colossians 1:12
Ministry of Reconciliation - 2 Corinthians 5:18
New Birth 1 Peter 1:23
Heavenly Citizenship - Philippians 3:20 (NIV)
Heirs with Christ – Romans 8:17
Direct Access through Prayer – James 5:16
Eternal Security – Romans 8:39
Not, last nor least…. the present of the Presence to come
