Wednesday's Word - Prayer Aware
In November 2001, the American Heart Journal published findings from a feasibility-pilot, known as the MANTRA (Monitoring and Actualization of Noetic TRAinings). You may remember hearing of this news which indicated that cardiac patients who being prayed for faired better than cardiac patients who had no one praying for them.
As this thought popped into my head recently, I thought, neither group of patients knew that anyone was praying/or not praying for them. But the prayers knew…and God knew.
WHAT A REVELATION! You can better someone’s life without them even being aware. Would to God that we would be sensitive to the needs of neighbors, co-workers, our congregations, pastors & politicians.
Here’s the Word:
Luke 6:28 Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
Hebrews 13:18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly.
Acts 6:4 But we will give ourselves continually to prayer, and to the ministry of the word.
To quote a comic book phrase: Our ‘Spidey senses should tingle’ meaning our spirit should be moved when in our deep affection causing us to pray for people, that they would experience the Love of Christ. I wonder how much things be different if we were more prayer aware.
In Him,
Cros
