Wednesday’s Word - Here, put this on.
Have you ever been invited to any sort of event, function, shindig or whatever where you had to ask…”So what should I wear?” It’s a most appropriate question. I mean who wants to show up somewhere looking totally out of place, right?
Even though we know that all Scripture is God breathed, certain verses really hit home with a clarity that is undeniable, compelling an answer of decision.
Jesus spake parables concerning the Kingdom of Heaven which really speak to many different facets the Father’s interaction with the world. Please take some time to look at Matthew 22; There Jesus is explaining how the Kingdom of Heaven is like a king who put together a wedding ceremony and banquet for his son. Luke’s (ch 14) account of the parable focuses on the excuses of those who wouldn’t attend, Matthew focuses on how the servants who went to gather the guests were treated. But Matt 22:11 and following goes on to discuss how guest were treated if they showed up without the proper attire for the wedding of the king’s son.
Now we hear so much from television about how grandiose celebrity weddings can be: how much the flowers and champagne costs, who the decorator was and the who’s who on the invite list. But I guarantee to the truth of scripture 1 Cor 2:9 eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him
Here’s the Word:
Galatians 3:26-27 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
God’s preparing the most monumental event of the ages; the great commission directs believers to hand out the personal invites. The best outfit your closet or credit card has to offer won’t do. So what you gon’ wear?

Might I play the part of the wedding planner and suggest some attire?
Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to
withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand
therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the
breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of
faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked one.
"And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is
the word of God; praying always with all prayer and supplication in the
Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and
supplication for all the saints...." Ephesians 6:10-18
Now that's G'd Up!!
Paul
May I add from Luke 12
27"Consider how the lilies grow. They do not labor or
spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his
splendor was dressed like one of these. 28If that is
how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here
today, and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, how much
more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! 29And
do not set your heart on what you will eat or drink;
do not worry about it. 30For the pagan world runs
after all such things, and your Father knows that you
need them. 31But seek his kingdom, and these things
will be given to you as well.
What will you wear? As Cros puts it..
The Armor of God as Singleton puts it..
As Christians we automatically have the access to the
Armory of God, we have a key that enables us to
protect us from the ways of this world, but who
protects us from us.
As military members, we expreience training, resources
and guidance which helps to clothe ourselves in chem
gear, in BDUs, and body armour and vehicles which all
help to protect us in the environment in which we are
exposed to. And still we suffer loss, many losses,
witness those individuals who did not first clothe
themselves in Jesus and are truly lost forever!
The scripture from Luke is a testiment, no a directive
from our Commander and Chief to worry about clothing
ourselves in Jesus first and foremost.
Our lives can be called from us at any time, it is an
order only given by the Father, and only his Son
provides true deliverance and protection from eternal
death. No chem gear, body amour, amoured vehicle will
keep us from our mortality. But through Jesus we have
eternity, we have life, we have joy.
As Cros said, we are called to share the word, through
the way we live. We need to live clothing ourselves
in the Armour of God as Singleton said, through this
people will see and will finally hear the sweet small
voice of the spirit. And they will worry no more :)
so what will you wear?
