Location, Location, Location!

I don’t know, but sometimes I get a sneaky suspicion that if we could really grasp the holiness of Heaven, it would change so much about how we do life here on earth. For those of us who steer clear of meditating on Heaven’s holiness, I think we fall to one of two main ideas: It’s too holy – and therefore, I don’t need to spend any time or effort trying to realize that in any impactful way to my life. The other thought – It doesn’t matter, I know I can’t just do the stuff I do here, but once I’m there, I won’t want to anyway, when I get to Heaven, I’ll just start doing “holy” stuff.

I don’t doubt that after reading the parameters of the two ideologies, you’d probably want to add your own niche

It’s a fun phrase popular in our day “I’mma need you to do better”, but think about it, we all know that we should/could do better, but why don’t we? Seems that many of us either aren’t serious, or are really feeling not so bad about the things we do.

This is where God’s Word meets us – where we are, and contrary to popular belief, God accepting you the way you are is a far cry from what He does to make you ready for the Kingdom of Heaven.

Here’s the Word:

Matthew 5:29 - 30 And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.30 And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.

Should we suspect from this passage that God doesn’t accept people as they are? He surely does. It’s just that Holiness is so unimaginably pristine and so untainted that we need to see both sides, His acceptance and His desire for your cleanliness. This should tell you what you need to know about the seriousness of holiness. Imagine losing a hand right now…or an eye. That’s serious.

This is where we need to be honest about our LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. We live in a fallen world where absolutely everything is tainted. Now don’t go pointing the ‘blame finger’ at the fallen world: This fallen world is full of fallen, sin-stained people…and we are them.

Heaven doesn’t have a back door with a place to knock the dirt from your boots, or a sink to wash up or spray off your mess before entering. Heaven has one front door and if you thought you’d catch hell for tracking dirt into your Momma’s house on clean-up day, you haven’t even come close to what Heaven is.

I’m grateful that the Bible speaks to those of us who do consider the holiness of Heaven and it goes further to help see where we are in order that we can start cutting off the offending members.

Here’s The Word:

1 John 2:15 Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

1 Corinthians 15:48 -49 As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly. And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.

You have to realize that this world is in the hands of a deceiver. The prince of the power of the air. The Devil himself. To justify your tendencies by standards based in what the world receives or respects should be enough evidence to you that your heart is still blinded by your comforts. Your benefits are the bait that the enemy is using to keep you from being cleaned up.

Luke 12: 34 For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Philippians 3: 19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

We can’t clean ourselves. Again, this is where LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION matters most. In this world, our good can be pretty impressive. This can also serve to deceive us and keep us from submitting to God. Remember, even at our best, compared to Heaven, we’re just a mess.

Colossians 3:2 -3 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.3 For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

So what’s your location? In the world, trying to be successfully relevant in their eyes, trying to be accepted and not shunned as one of their friends, looking for approval according to their standards?
Don’t wait. The time for cutting off is now. The time for clinging to Christ is now. The time for cleaning is now. You can do better with your heart, your mind and your communication. You’re in the right LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION.

In Him,
Cros
