Wednesday's Word - Stop and Ask for Directions
Hello All,
Earlier on in our relationship, Tracy and I came to the question that most people associate with one of the obvious (and humorous) differences between men and women: “How long does a man have to drive around lost before he will stop and ask for directions?”
We talked about it, and being a man, I felt confident that I could explain the situation from a male point of view. I said , “Honey, if I feel that I still have options that I haven’t tried yet, then I really don’t feel as if I’m lost.” Now I know that there is the common reasoning of ‘Male Ego’ and I don’t discount that in many situations it likely has some merit. But for myself, If I’m out of options…then I’m lost…Or am I.
Here’s the Word;
Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.
Sometimes we as people, men and women alike, fail to see when we need to pull over and ask for directions. And there are a myriad of ‘reasonings and rationalizings’ we tell ourselves to settle it in our minds. This is not about giving up when things get difficult, this is more so about checking our motives. If we get determined to go in a direction, even one that we’re quite comfortable and familiar with, and pride is our motivation; you may not end up driving passed the same gas station 5 times but the Word of God has no problem proving Itself True at your expense
Proverbs 16:18 Pride goeth before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.
Sometimes you need to stop and ask for directions, wisdom is shown by knowing when.
In Him,
Cros
