Wednesday's Word - Truth and Consequence

Hello Friends.

What is truth?

Is it only that which can be boiled down to predictable outcomes of a repeatable process? Is there a such thing as universal absolute truth or has our postmodern age surrendered ‘truth’ to a relative concept that exists only in the mind and experience of the beholder? Is knowing the truth possible or even necessary?

If there was no God, then it really wouldn’t matter if prevailing truth were held as the highest regard in the human experience or not. But there is a God. And not only that, there’s an enemy who specializes in truth distortion in an effort to cause you grief and to separate you from God. This makes the idea of truth and knowing it of utmost importance.

Here’s the Word:

John 17:17 Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 (speaking of the Antichrist)
9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, 10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

The Word of God is Truth and it’s the Standard of Truth by which all other ‘truth’ can be measured. The Devil is like a magician who makes dangerous consequences appear as desirable truth…Stay close to Biblical truth.

In Him,
Cros

Such an unpopular idea, “Absolute truth”. Today relativism is the popular belief. Whatever you believe is your reality. Faith based initiatives; Faith in what. If everyone is right then no one is wrong; and there is no such thing as an all-knowing-God. We are God.
