Wednesday's Word - Add, Subtract, Multiply, Decide
Hello All
Getting back into the swing of the school season has obviously provoked the direction of today's word. For those of us with school-aged children, little else brings more joy than hearing this answer to the question;
So whats your favorite subject in school? Math.
Why is that? Because math is not the easiest subject, but if you can get in on the ground floor and stick with it, a good understanding of mathematics offers a broad range of beneficial professions, or simply, greater possibilities for a better life. And as we all begin with the faith of a child, how true is this also in the Spiritual:
Here's the Word:
ADD
2 Peter 1:5-8 And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; 6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; 7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. 8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
SUBTRACT
Ephesians 4: 21-22 If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by
him, as the truth is in Jesus: 22 That ye put off concerning the former
conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Ephesians 4:31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour(noisy
complaining), and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
MULTIPLY
There used to be a Prell shampoo commercial that advocated the idea of telling a friend 'and so on ..and so on' as pictures of people multiplied across the screen.
Matthew 28:19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
DECIDE
Psalm 25:12 What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.
How much a proud Dad do we make our Heavenly Father when we choose this math as our favorite subject? If you're wondering why I chose DECIDE and not DIVIDE.
Division is not spoken of very highly in scripture but it is a lesson worth learning.
1 Corinthians 1:10 Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
In Him,
Cros
