Thinking Things Over

Hello All,
Okay, so today’s message is going to be presented a little differently. When is the last time you really thought “things” over?

Here’s the Word:

Luke 12:31 But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. “What things?”

John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace “What things?”

2 Peter 1:8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ “What things?”

Psalm 107:43 Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD. “What things?”

Jeremiah 5:25 Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you. “What things?”

Matthew 24:34 Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled. “What things?”

Mark 7:23 All these evil things come from within, and defile the man. “What things?”

John 13:17 If ye know these things, happy are ye if ye do them. “Really? What things?”

1 Timothy 4:11 These things command and teach. “Sounds important. What things?”

Okay so now you tell me, which one of those things can you honestly look at and say “ahhh, those things don’t apply to me”? Or “Those things hold no interest for me at all.”

Understand, I only picked a few things, there are more things where those came from. And trust me, these are things you'll wanna know.
Take for instance the first reference in Luke, many people are confused about many a thing. And sadly, they preach a distorted message because trying to get you to believe that these things mean something that they really don't.
We need to know things for ourselves.
In Second Timothy, we’re commanded to study to show ourselves approved. And the first 2 verses of the Psalms talks about the blessed man who meditates (thinks deeply) on God’s Word.
So I hope you’re a little intrigued and motivated to crack open a Bible and think these “things” over.

In Him,
Cros

OK Cros, what struck me from this post was that we must look at the context. The first one you chose deals with the things we worry about, and who doesn't worry or feel anxiety about many things.(There's that word again!) This passage is an answer to the problem of worry! I'm sure each of the passages you mentioned must be understood in terms of the context! Thanks for the reminder.
